Community Investment

What it would take to build Elder Justice Fresno.

Welcome

Figures are working estimates for discussion, not an approved budget. Funding supports development; it does not by itself activate a partner or a service.

Development areas

Need, current status, what investment could help develop — and the readiness still required.

EASI Program

Coordination Capacity

Someone to hold the work together: the needs register, partner conversations, volunteer and intern coordination, and reporting.

Investment could help develop

Consistent partner discovery and follow-up
Volunteer and intern coordination
A maintained needs & capacity register
Regular public status updates

Working estimate: $45,000 — Part-time coordinator, about 20 hrs/week at $35/hr, plus payroll and employment costs.

Partner Needed

Victim Advocacy & Local Hotline Response

Older victims of abuse may benefit from a trusted local, trauma-informed advocate and a local line that can answer with elder-abuse-specific preparation.

Investment could help develop

Elder-abuse orientation for a partner's advocates
Consultation and role design
Pilot planning and review

Not yet operating: No advocacy or hotline pathway operates through Elder Justice Fresno, and no partner has agreed to provide one.

Working estimate: $15,000 — Development and pilot planning with a capable partner.

Emergency Placement Development

Some older adults cannot safely stay where they are, and the search for a safe setting often starts during the crisis.

Investment could help develop

Facility relationships before a crisis
Readiness reviews (Relationship → Readiness → Placement-ready)
Later, carefully governed help with transportation and short-term needs

Not yet operating: No facility is placement-ready yet. EJF does not place elders, reserve beds, or guarantee funding, and no stabilization fund is operating.

Working estimate: $10,000 — Relationship and readiness work with care and housing organizations.

EASI Program

Community Education

Families, professionals, and community members who can recognize abuse and respond early.

Investment could help develop

Senior center presentations
Care facility trainings
Fraud prevention workshops
Printed materials

Not yet operating: Some training topics are still in development.

Working estimate: $10,000 — Presentations, workshops, and materials.

EASI Program

Volunteer & Intern Development

Prepared people behind every pathway, with training before any sensitive role.

Investment could help develop

Volunteer onboarding
Training materials and guest instructors
A supervised community-capacity internship lane

Working estimate: $7,500 — Onboarding, materials, and supervision.

Future Phase

Pathway development

Restorative Elder & Family Practice

Some families want repair and accountability, when it is safe and voluntary for the older adult.

Investment could help develop

An elder-justice bridge for already-trained practitioners
Safety screening and process-fit design
A small, supervised pilot

Not yet operating: This is not yet a referral service; family mediation and restorative dialogue are not offered through Elder Justice Fresno.

Working estimate: $10,000 — Bridge training, safety screening design, and a small pilot.

Partner Needed

Transportation & Access

Getting to appointments, services, and community life.

Investment could help develop

Mapping existing options
Partner development where gaps remain

Not yet operating: No transportation pathway operates through Elder Justice Fresno.

Future Phase

Shared Infrastructure

Simple tools that help people and partners see what exists and what is being built.

Investment could help develop

Public status pages and the needs register
Partner tools — only after a pathway has been worked through by people first

Support is for EASI's development work. It does not purchase a role in a pathway, a referral, or an endorsement, and prospective partners are not named here without their permission.

Workforce Philosophy

Elder justice work deserves sustainable wages.

For years, this work has depended on volunteers and underfunded professionals carrying significant responsibility. The first goal is modest: fund a part-time coordinator at approximately 20 hours per week to coordinate the development of Elder Justice Fresno.

Long-term wage ladder · aspiration, not current positions

Community Coordinator$35/hr
Experienced Practitioner$50/hr
Senior Practitioner$75/hr
Executive/System Leadership$125/hr

Transparency Commitment

The goal is to make the invisible work visible.

As the work develops, this page can show funding received, project updates, partnership progress, and which pathways have actually become active.
